The Sorrow Of Love

-William Butler Yeats

The quarrel of the sparrow in the eaves,
The full round moon and the star-laden sky,
And the loud song of the ever-singing leaves,
Had hid away earth's old and weary cry.

And then you came with those red mournful lips,
And with you came the whole of the world's tears,
And all the sorrows of her labouring ships,
And all the burden of her myriad years.

And now the sparrows warring in the eaves,
The curd-pale moon, the white stars in the sky,
And the loud chaunting of the unquiet leaves,
Are shaken with earth's old and weary cry.

Word Of The Wolf today is cajole \kuh-JOHL\,
transitive or intransitive verb:

To persuade with flattery, repeated appeals, or soothing words; to coax.

"For no amount of cajoling and coaxing could convince the jaded footballer Zizou that he still had some football left in him to come out from retirement."

Cajole derives from Early Modern French cajoler, originally, "to chatter like a bird in a cage, to sing; hence, to amuse with idle talk, to flatter," from Old French gaiole, jaiole, "a cage," from Medieval Latin caveola, "a small cage," from Latin cavea, "an enclosure, a den for animals, a bird cage," from cavus, "hollow." It is related to cave, cage and jail (British gaol).

Blogger YU JIAN couldn't refrain from sayin...

Happened to chance by your blog after it was introduced to me by a friend of yours, Dilys.

Pretty impressed, I must say. You've got a nice way with words. Keep it up. Good bloggers that don't waste precious minutes of your life describing shit you don't need to know bout their mundane lives are a rare breed, indeed. Yours is interesting.

P.S. - Am a rap fan myself so obviously got a bit curious at your Favourites under the Greatest Rapper of All Time or something like that. Biggie Smalls? Granted, his shit was tight, he had some good lyrics but I gotta disagree wit you, man. Tupac Shakur, although more cliched wit all his 'thug life' bullshit, had better flow and a bigger presence on the mic.

Personally speaking, if Biggie was still alive, I think he'd be owned by Nas, Jay-Z, Royce Da 5'9 or Eminem in a freestyle.

Feel free to disagree. Juz my thoughts.
